Innovation is reshaping the future of street sweeping

At this year’s Esri User Conference, SCA’s CTO, Jean Souliere, unveiled our proprietary TrueSweep™ platform. It doesn’t just tell you where our truck was—it shows you that the right work was completed, in the right place, under the real conditions of the day.  Every SCA vehicle is equipped with advanced cloud-connected technology, tracking:

• Vehicle location & speed
• Route adherence
• Broom engagement
• Water spray usage
• Service duration

As such, SCA provides clients with real-time dashboards featuring both live and historical data, as well as automated NPDES-ready reports and secure, cloud-based data management.

In partnering with Esri, we ensure data-driven service verification through the spatial operating layer provided by their mapping technology. “The route becomes a data collection network, not just a service route” explains Souliere. We can map every route and see execution in real time by overlaying our telematic data. We are currently piloting innovations in Edge AI Detection that will allow us to autonomously identify parked cars, overgrown vegetation, potholes, construction zones and service blockers, further enhancing our ability to coordinate with our municipal partners across parking enforcement, route optimization, work planning, MS4 compliance and other regulatory frameworks.

Once the work is contextualized and communicated, sweeping becomes a valuable source of operational insight for cities. It allows us to plan smarter routes and cycles, align cities and communities’ needs and turn field intelligence into measurable impact.
